Iqaluit, NU Canada, April 27, 2023 — Panarctic Communications, a whole -owned subsidiary of Qikiqtaaluk Corporation and Galaxy Broadband Communications, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Crown Capital Partners Inc. (TSX: CRWN), announced today that they have formed a new telecom company to service Canada’s Arctic – INUKNET Communications Inc. (“INUKNET”).
INUKNET is an Inuit controlled internet service provider (ISP) that aims to become the leading telecommunications service provider in Northern Canada by combining world-class technologies with local knowledge and culture. INUKNET’s initial roll-out will cover all 25 communities in Nunavut by the end of 2023 with additional communities located in Northwest Territories, and the Nunavik region of Northern Quebec in 2024. INUKNET will be supported by locally hired employees and in addition to being the fastest available internet in the North, INUKNET’s service plans will not include fees for data overages.
